SEGULA Technologies, a leading French industrial engineering group operating worldwide, will be attending the InnoTrans trade fair in Berlin for the fourth time, from 22 to 25 September. The Group will showcase its full suite of engineering solutions designed to support the growth, modernisation, and decarbonisation of the rail sector: rolling stock (concept and design, homologation testing, crash simulation, RAMS requirements, fleet retrofitting, etc.), signalling (on-track integration of ERTMS/ETCS systems, real-time traffic optimisation, predictive maintenance, etc.), and infrastructure (trackwork, passenger information systems, stations, power supply, etc.)
Three dedicated rail centres of excellence
SEGULA Technologies’ expertise in the rail transport sector is widely recognised by the industry’s leading manufacturers and equipment suppliers. To support them even more effectively, the Group has decided to establish three Centres of Excellence entirely dedicated to the rail sector.
Located at the heart of major industrial hubs, these specialised centres bring together leading teams capable of covering the entire project lifecycle, from responding to tenders through to final delivery. They guarantee clients high-quality, internationally standardised delivery standards, regardless of where the projects are located.
Their role is also to disseminate best practice, develop high-level skills and share expertise across countries.
The three dedicated rail Centres of Excellence are:
- Rolling stock development in Zaragoza (Spain)
Experienced in the comprehensive design of new vehicles (railway carriages and locomotives) as well as in the retrofitting and modernisation of existing fleets. Its expertise covers industrialisation, systems, subsystems and TCMS, as well as electrical and electromechanical integration across all vehicle types (high-speed trains, regional transport, metros and trams).
- Rolling stock testing and commissioning in Derby (United Kingdom)
Expertise in full-fleet testing and commissioning – from sub-systems to complete trains – conducted at OEM and operators’ facilities. The centre brings critical value through root cause investigation, real-time modifications, and expert design and process recommendations from initial analysis to final acceptance.
- Signalling and ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System) deployment in Vado Ligure (Italy)
This centre drives the complete upgrade cycle for trains and locomotives to ensure fleet interoperability across Class A and Class B European networks. Activities range from system analysis and hardware integration to complete homologation and regulatory approvals.
A cross-functional network with complementary expertise
These facilities form part of SEGULA Technologies’ global network of 21 Centres of Excellence across all its key operating sectors (rail, as well as automotive, aerospace, naval, defence, and energy).
Alongside the three dedicated rail hubs, the sector will also leverage cross-functional expertise from centres specialising in plant engineering, industrial design, and advanced manufacturing.
SEGULA is hiring in the rail sector!
The establishment of these Centres of Excellence demonstrates SEGULA Technologies’ strong commitment to the development of its rail business. To support the major global projects driving transformation in the sector, the group is looking to expand its workforce and is currently recruiting more than 400 people worldwide.
Immediate recruitment efforts are focused on France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Canada to address the pressing demand for highly qualified technical talent, with roles including for example : infrastructure architects, design engineers (civil engineering, power systems, CBTC/ETCS automation), project managers, RAMS experts, or site supervisors.
In the next years, the Group is planning expansion across key rail refurbishment markets (Germany, Scandinavia, Poland, and North America), while capturing emerging opportunities in Australia, the Middle East, and Brazil.
Tackling the global skills shortage through training
In response to an unprecedented shortage of high-level technical skills (telecommunications, embedded software, systems, advanced calculations, and RAMS), SEGULA is rolling out a proactive talent strategy:
